National Library Week 2011

Hey Everybody!

It's National Library Week! National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.

For those of you new to UNH Law, around here Library Week means PRIZES! CANDY! GAMES! An all-around fun week before the hard work of final exams. Be sure to sign up for the free Westlaw Lunch on Wednesday!

So, come on down the Library. Tell us about your favorite book. Throw your name in a raffle box. We look forward to seeing you.

Lunch with Librarians

Several times a year UNH librarians give presentations to the faculty on library services. What goes on in these secret meeting? Well, nothing secret. In fact information on past lunches is available here for faculty, staff, students or anyone to have a look. (continued in full post)

Topics have included new library technologies, expert catalog searching and more. You'll be surprised what you learn.

New Electronic Database Format

After careful study, the Library decided to rename "quickclicks" to a descriptive "Electronic Databases". All of the databases are the same but the menu on the left is now cleaner. You can search by title (formerly QuickClicks Alpha) by subject (QuickClicks) or by journal title (Journal Holdings, formerly Find an Article.)

Additionally our chat widget, via Meebo, now displays on the left side of most pages instead of only on select pages. Meebo allows instant messaging chat with librarians during library hours.

Library Orientation Presentation

Incoming students learned about library resources and policies in the best way possible. . .by playing a library themed Price is Right!

Three lucky contestants, aided by generous help from the audience, answered questions on library hours, study rooms, course reserves and much much more. Read more.
