Making of Modern Law

When you think about 19th century legal treatises you may think of delicately handling crumbling volumes. However with the Making of Modern Law (MOML) database there are thousands of rare volumes available easily and electronically. MOML allows full text searching of over 21,000 British and American legal treatises published between 1800 and 1926. All material is also available and downloadable in PDF to preserve original formatting.
When could I use MOML?
Establishing the background and context for a legal doctrine.
Law Review cite checking.
When researching legal history or philosophy for a seminar paper.
What are some examples of "cool stuff" in MOML?
Works by Charles Darrow, Oliver Wendell Holmes, and many many more.
Generally the database is easy to search. Searches by author, keyword, subject etc are available and can be combined with limitations on the date of publication. There is also a robust help section help online. Don't hesitate to stop by a librarian's office if you have any additional questions on this or other databases in the collection.
