All About Universal Search Solutions

Ever wonder what this search box on the left side of the library’s page does?

Read more to find out.

USS (Universal Search Solution) is a beta project in development by NELLCO (New England Law Library Consortium) to search across a wide range of library material. For example try searching for “divorce law” in the box. The results are retrieved from a variety of different sources available at PierceLaw Library:

Our Catalog  - pulling up books on divorce law

HeinOnline – articles pulled up on divorce law

                bePress – more articles

Free web sources – free web sources.

                NELLCO Legal Repository –more articles

In short, USS strives to offer a complete search of all PierceLaw Library resources. In the future, additional databases will (hopefully!) be added to increase the usefulness of this resource. Perhaps Westlaw, LexisNexis or BNA products will soon be included on this list. In the meantime think of this resource as a super catalog that pulls results from a range of sources.
