Welcome to the UNH Law Library
Overlooking the scenic White Park in Concord, New Hampshire, the Law Library is your information center at the UNH School of Law. Our students prepare for their legal careers in a specialty, Intellectual Property Library within a larger Law Library. The Law Library's three floors include varied study spaces including 5 study rooms, the main collection, the IP Library, the Kenison Room for rare books, and the Gire Archives.
The general legal collection offers domestic legal materials to support the law school's curricular and clinical needs and provides targeted collections in Social Justice, E-commerce and Technology, International Criminal Law and Justice and an extensive collection of New Hampshire legal materials.
The library staff provides full service support and instruction for JD, MIP and LLM students guided by the faculty approved Informational Literacy Plan, detailing legal research instruction throughout the curriculum. In addition to working closely with students and faculty on their research, we also teach a variety of for credit legal research and information literacy courses throughout the curriculum. We also work with students and faculty to provide research training, reference services, subject area LibGuides and tailored collections.
The Law Library is designated as a Patent and Trademark Research Center (PTRC). The mission of a PTRC is to disseminate patent and trademark information and support the public's diverse intellectual property needs. Training and research instruction for members of the public interested in searching patent and trademarks is provided by our Intellectual Property Librarian.
The library's print and electronic collection is searchable in MELCAT.
In addition, students, faculty and staff have access to the following:
More than 300,000 digital and print volumes;
LexisAdvance, Westlaw and Bloomberg Law;
Over 70 legal, non-legal and IP research databases such as Discover PLI, HeinOnline, JurisNotes, JSTOR and more
In addition to traditional library services such as research help and Interlibrary Loan, the library also offers a variety of services, including one-on-one research consultation; group study rooms for collaborative learning; stand-up desks; and Library Week Celebrations. We also celebrate our roots through our archival collections in the Gire Archives and profile our faculty's scholarship in the UNH Scholars' Repository.

The University of New Hampshire School of Law librarians shall maintain a law library that is a central, active, responsive force in the educational life of the law school by teaching students and patrons to be successful, ethical information seekers; building and facilitating intellectual access to relevant collections vital to the law school’s academic and programmatic mission; delivering information services supporting teaching, research and scholarship; fostering a culture of collaboration within the law school, the university and the legal and law library community; and providing welcoming space conducive to intellectual discovery.
